I’ve just returned from a short visit to Rishikesh, India, accompanying 35 Chinese yoga students on their first visit. There by the shores at the mouth of the Ganges, where the water and air are refreshingly clean, we practised yoga, meditation and chanting.
I was invited to sing at the famed Sunset Ganga Arati at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Uttarakhand, Rishikesh. I was joined by the indomitable Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati in an experience which was a tremendous honour. I wrapped up the short tour with a concert at Yog Vashishth, which was most certainly one of the highlights of 2014.
In September I revisited China, this time the ancient city of Guangzhou. I was invited to China’s first ever Indian/Chinese cross-cultural music festival. With over 1000 people in attendance it truly indicated that the winds of change are in the air.
